Explore your abilities as a Freediver to experience the underwater world like never before! The Freediver course educates divers on the skills, safety and problem management to allow you to comfortably enjoy the underwater world and improve your breath-holding techniques.

The Freediver certification course trains divers to a maximum depth of 66 feet (20 meters), and you will practice Static Apnea to help develop your breath-holding abilities and comfort in the water. Prerequisites include good health and swimming ability, and a minimum 12 years of age.

During your Freediver certification course you will learn about the fundamental physics and physiology of freediving, essential safety procedures for breath hold diving, proper breathing techniques for freediving and snorkeling, equalization for deep diving, and master the open water skills for freediving to specific depths.

NAUI Freediving courses are offered by NAUI Instructors who have completed additional training through Performance Freediving International (PFI) to teach freediving. Individuals in good physical condition and who meet the minimum age requirements listed above may enroll in Freediving courses. PFI offers a full range of recreational, competitive and instructor development programs for freedivers looking to improve their skills. NAUI Freedivers wishing to develop their skills, knowledge and depth range beyond the Freediver level may enroll in a PFI Intermediate Freediver course.
