Summer Camp Dive Instructor/Divemaster
Job Description
We are seeking NAUI Divemasters and Instructors interested in working at a remote summer camp on Catalina Island! Our team of 20 full-time dive leaders are responsible for providing scuba and skin diving programming for campers aged 12-17. They will work collaboratively to develop, organize, and teach (or assist with teaching) scuba diving and skin diving courses as assigned. Diving environments include temperate sandy bottom, rocky reef, and kelp forests accessed by shore or dive boat. All diving activities will be in accordance with Catalina Sea Camp and NAUI Standards. Dive Staff are responsible for all aspects (as assigned and within an individual’s scope) of scuba diving and skin diving for Catalina Sea Camp. In addition to teaching diving, staff are expected to be involved in general camp activities.
We offer an intensive, in-house ITC and DM course, exclusively for our hired staff, prior to the start of the summer contract.
Summer contract dates: May 26-August 10, 2024 (full summer commitment required)
Compensation: Pay rates below are in addition to full room and board, travel stipend, and an individual professional liability insurance policy. Instructor: $565/week Divemaster: $540/week
*U.S. Work Authorization is required.
Requirements: NAUI Divemaster or NAUI Instructor OR meets the prerequisites for a NAUI DM or Instructor Training Course, Experience working with youth.
