Tampa, Fla., (May 2, 2017) – The National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI Worldwide), a leader in recreational scuba diver training and certification, is pleased to announce that Chris Scott (NAUI 40820) has been appointed the new Midwest Regional Manager for NAUI Services Group.
The regional manager positions within NAUI Headquarters are designed to expand NAUI's worldwide business efforts in both traditional and non-traditional markets. NAUI's commitment to exceptional customer support and continued growth is exhibited by Scott’s appointment.
Scott is responsible for supporting and managing NAUI members and affiliates in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
“I am very pleased to have Chris joining our team of Regional Managers. His background in web based technology, dive facility operations, and social media will be a tremendous asset to all of our affiliates in the Midwest region,” said NAUI Business Development Director, Jack Snively.
Scott has experience working with a variety of organizations to maximize their branding potential and to find the best solutions for their business needs. As a freelance content marketing and design consultant, Scott has developed marketing materials and strategies for a variety of clients in diverse markets with a focus on social media promotion, SEO, search and sales analytics, and monetization through referral programs and advertising.
Also a dedicated scuba instructor and educator, Scott was certified by the age of 12. He had completed his NAUI Instructor Training Course in 2003 at the age of 18. Since then, he has served as a NAUI Course Director, retail manager and marketing manager for the Louisville Dive Center (LDC) in Kentucky, where he grew up. With LDC, he has taught a wide range of NAUI courses and specialties, including Exhibit Diving for the Louisville Zoo and Public Safety Diver for the Louisville Police Department. In addition to dive education, his role as the sales and marketing director at LCD curated a distinct media presence and increased student capture and retention by 30 percent. As director, Scott expanded customer retention strategies based around continuing education courses, gear sales programs, as well as drove revenue and outreach for the dive center.
Scott completed his bachelor’s degree in anthropology at the University of Louisville in 2010 where he focused on underwater archaeology. Since 2011, Chris has been based out of Chicago, Illinois, where he lives with his wife, Cassie, who is a fashion photographer.
