Getting started with scuba diving is easy - and free to start at home!
Becoming a NAUI Certified Openwater Diver requires two parts - online education and in-water training. Now you can start your online-based education at home at no cost. Then, when the time is right, connect with a NAUI Dive Center or NAUI Certified Professional Instructor to continue your instruction in the classroom and water. Your instructor or Dive Center will charge you for the cost of the course when you start the classroom/water phase of training.
NAUI Openwater Diver is our entry-level certification course where you will learn the fundamental knowledge and skills to safety dive in open water. During your eLearning education, you will learn about modern dive equipment, diving sciences, responsible diving practices and the environment. Then, your diving skills will be taught and practiced first in the comfort and convenience of a confined water (pool) environment and finally during your open water training dives in an ocean or lake with your NAUI Instructor.
Earning your NAUI Openwater Diver Certification card is an accomplishment for which you will rightfully feel proud. You will be ready to begin a lifetime of underwater adventures and discovering. Individuals ages 10+ and in good physical condition may enroll in a NAUI Openwater Diver course.
