Are you Interested in sharing your love of diving and introducing the next generation to the wonders of the underwater world. You can explore new adventures or careers as a NAUI Professional Scuba Instructor. Take the next step and become a NAUI Scuba Instructor! If you are a NAUI Divemaster (DM), Assistant Instructor (AI) or hold other agency leadership certifications this is the course for you.

GENERAL ITINERARY:

4 WEEKENDS PLUS 8 EVENING ONLINE CLASSES

-A weekend of introduction, skills and knowledge review will be conducted prior to the Instructor Training Course (ITC). Required for non NAUI DM and recommended for all.

-Cost for course is $2500. Not included are materials, membership and registration, insurance, and travel and lodging expenses. The ITC Candidate Package is $703 including elearning, license bundle, slates and promotional materials. NAUI Membership and first years dues is $280 Insurance is required for active teaching status.

 

DATES:

September 10:        ITC Informational meeting/registration *online

September 14/15:   Pre-qualification weekend Vancouver WA

October 12/13:        ITC classroom and pool Vancouver WA

November 2/3:       ITC classroom and open water Hoodsport

November 9/10:     ITC classroom and open water Hoodsport

-Online classes will be scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday Evenings with the first meeting September 10 where we will confirm meeting dates.

 

-A non-refundable deposit of $250 is required to confirm your participation. Payable to Jim Larsen, dolphintoo@comcast.net 360-921-8894. P.O. Box 1631 Vancouver, WA 98668. You can purchase the Instructor Candidate Package ($703) from your local NAUI store, through your Instructor or from Jim Larsen.

 

PREREQUISITES

-Minimum age is 18 years by the water phase of the course.

-Current certification as a NAUI Assistant Instructor or NAUI Divemaster or other agency leaders.

-Current certification as a NAUI Open Water Scuba Diver or the equivalent

-Current certification as a NAUI Rescue Scuba Diver or the equivalent

-Current certification as a NAUI Nitrox Diver or the equivalent

-Current certification as a NAUI Master Scuba Diver or the equivalent

-Current certification in NAUI First Aid for the Diving Professional or equivalent.

-A minimum of 100 logged open water scuba dives with a minimum of 30 hours bottom time. Dives shall be varied in environment, depth, and activities.

-Medical Approval - Verification of good physical condition as documented by a medical examination and unconditional approval for diving by a licensed physician within the preceding 12 months.
