Position Statement
NAUI faces significant competitive challenges in a changing market. From an international
perspective, NAUI should focus on increasing market share by establishing a more
comprehensive network of NAUI instructors and facilities worldwide coupled with
organizations that will provide increased career opportunities as well as support
for NAUI training programs.
Within the USA, NAUI focusing on the same goals while adding a market campaign
to target the highest untapped populations within the USA. Scuba diving needs to
be more accessible to all people without compromising quality, with the
use of technology and the right market strategy this is achievable. Moreover, increased
recruitment, diver mentor programs, and continuing education help to mold our future
leaders in the dive industry.
The strength of the organization lies in its leadership and its ability to empower
members to strive in meeting NAUI goals. The heart beat of the NAUI organization
depends on the support of all its members. As a BOD member I would be committed
to meeting NAUIs goals and support its members in bridging their needs with NAUIs
ability to meet them. The members of any board of directors should reflect the diversity
and experience within that organization.
As a Course Director, Program Manager, and Adjunct Professor, I have both technical
and business education with the experience (see biosketch) necessary to derive innovative
solutions in today’s global and domestic markets. It would be an honor to work on
the NAUI BOD serving you and I am asking for your support.

BOD Election Questions
Question1: The key to bolstering interest in scuba industry today is to continue to attract new recruits while riding future trends. To achieve this goal, focus on a marketing strategy that targets the highest untapped scuba populations worldwide offering a campaign bringing excitement and rewards of scuba diving to all qualified persons. Promoting continuing education coupled with dive travel and events is also key to student retention, increased business, SCUBA instruction and sales.
Question2: When you dive with NAUI you join an elite group of professionals
who take pride in the educational services they provide as leaders in their field. No
other organization in the diving community offers such diverse quality programs
and educational materials with high value at competitive pricing. I promote this
belief to students at every level of training.
Question3: The strength of international organizations is its multicultural diversity.
The success of NAUI is dependent on the communication and networking amongst the
membership. As a NAUI board member it is my duty to focus on the success of our
organization and how I represent its membership. I will:
- Tap into my international business and educational experiences to foster;
worldwide networking amongst NAUI membership and affiliates;
- Dedicate my time to respond to member’s questions, needs and concerns;
- Network and talk to NAUI membership and affiliates during my international and USA travels;
- Promote consistent quality of NAUI products & services;
- Promote smart business practices focusing on saving time/money; and
- Support today’s highly mobile worldwide society.
