NAUI Dive Center Code of Ethics

As a NAUI Worldwide Affiliate Member and scuba diving center operator, I promise to strictly adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Commitment to the student – My first duty is to student safety and the promotion of Dive Safety Through Education

  • Commitment to the aquatic environment – I will instill by instruction and example respect for and a desire to preserve the aquatic environment.

  • Commitment to the profession – I will continually strive to raise professional standards; accurately represent our qualifications, services offered, and business and teaching experience.

  • Commitment to quality practices – I will sell, rent or provide breathing gases only to appropriately certified divers; assure that all rental regulators are well maintained and equipped with submersible pressure gauges and extra second stages; inspect all rental cylinders in accordance with Professional Scuba Inspectors, Inc. (PSI) and Compressed Gas Association (CGA) standards and require evidence of inspection decals be affixed before refilling; have a sample of dispensed breathing gases tested quarterly to meet or exceed NAUI’s published Modified CGA Grade E Air standard or CGA Grade E Air standard (as appropriate), and a record of the test results kept on file.
  • Commitment to the community – I will dedicate myself to promoting a positive image within my local community.
NAUI Affiliate members pledge to practice their profession according to the highest ethical standards. They recognize the right of individuals with the requisite skills and physical capacity to receive instruction and purchase diving services without discrimination as to race, sex or beliefs.
