    Authorized supervisor for the Treasure Island Diving Policy & Procedures. Train technicians and supervise dive operations. Inspect, troubleshoot & repair dive equipment. Perform maintenance and inspections above and below the water line. Systems include major mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Effect systems include pyrotechnic and flame effects.

    • Developed dive equipment inspection criteria.

    Showtech, Inc. Las Vegas, Nevada 1992-1993
    Lead Diver
    Worked for Showtech Inc. on the building and installation of Buccaneer Bay (pirate ship battle show) at the Treasure Island Resort. Lead diver in the final installation of the underwater mechanics, hydraulics and testing of the boats and wave machines.

    • Trained all divers the proper methods and operations of technical diving that would be performed at Treasure Island



    APT Industries. Las Vegas, Nevada 1991-1996
    Welder/ Fabricator
    Design / Layout / Assemble
    Fabricated structures and equipment such as a Ice crushers, and ice rink Zamboni. Responsible for designing and constructing props and special effects for local and traveling performers and stage shows including EFX Michael Crawford, Spellbound, The Gauchos at the Stardust's Enter the night, and Manpower-Thunder from down under.

    U.S. Marine Corps Scuba School.
    Camp Pendleton, California 1990-1991
    Director of Training

    Rebuilt scuba school curriculum and related programs. Responsible for the training of over 500 military personnel. Maintained an inventory in excess of $2 million in equipment. Responsible for related maintenance and repair. Position terminated due to transfer of base units for Operation Desert Storm.
    Achievements
    • Increased the number of personnel trained by 30%.
    • Modernized and upgraded equipment and facilities to optimum standards while remaining below budget.

    Klamath River Gold Dredging. Happy Camp, California 1989-1990
    Lead Diver
    Trained and supervised all divers. Maintained dive barge and related equipment. Designed special equipment to improve working efficiency of divers and mining procedures.
    Achievements
    • Designed and built the largest working gold retrieval barge on the river.
    • Responsible for securing the barge during a storm with 16 feet of high water. This required me to swim across the 30 foot wide river.

    Dive West, Inc. Las Vegas, NV 1986-1989
    Instructor Manager
    Responsible for all training classes and staff schedules. Responsible for accounting, sales, inventory, and maintenance and repair of all equipment. Led all salvage work contracted for the company.
    Achievement
    • Certified by the DOT to perform hydrostatic tests on scuba and other gas-filled cylinders
    • Conducted the first Instructor Training Course conducted in the Las Vegas area to certify new instructors under the National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI)
    • Established and conducted company assistance program for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Search & Rescue Team

    United States Marine Corps 1982-1986
    Corporal (E-4)
    Crew Chief on L.V.T. Amphibious Assault Vehicle. Two years as assistant instructor in the Camp Pendleton Scuba School.
    Achievements
    • Broke the Marine Corps record for pull-ups128, awarded a Meritorious Mast.
    • Awarded Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal for active duty during Beirut Crisis, along with Multi-National Peace Keeping Ribbon and the Meritorious Unit Citation. Awarded Navy Achievement medal for “Highest State of Readiness” while crew chief of amphibious assault vehicle during active deployment. Served on Search & Evacuation duty aiding personnel wounded in the bombing of the Marine Headquarters building in Beirut. Awarded the Humanitarian Medal.
