  • My NAUI Bio

    Bill Powe, NAUI 34793 is A multi-faceted manager with over 10 years experience in working with people and managing programs.

    Bill is currently the President of American Wood, Division of Powe Timber Company Inc., the General Manager of W.A. Powe Aquatics, LLC, and Part-Time Faculty at The University of Southern Mississippi.

    Previous management responsibilities have included managing preparedness and health and safety services for the American National Red Cross as the Mississippi Territory Service Delivery Manager, and managing recreational programs for the Department of Recreational Sports at The University of Southern Mississippi i.e. the Longleaf Trace Gateway at Southern Miss Manager (Hattiesburg’s Pearl & Leaf Rivers Rails to Trails Recreational District trail head), the Southern Miss Aquatic Program Manager, and the Southern Miss Outdoor Program Manager.

    Bill is a diverse aquatics instructor with 15 years experience teaching NAUI scuba diving courses and with 23 years experience teaching American Red Cross CPR, First Aid, Lifeguarding, Swimming, and Water Safety courses.

    Credit is due to Bill’s mentors Mike Giles, USM Swimming & Diving Coach and Dr. Charles Burchell, NAUI #1395 who guided and influenced this aquatic path.


    Pretty intense - but stuck with it.
