  • My NAUI Bio

As an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor I First learned to Scuba Dive in 1992 under the Direction of Dr. Charles Burchell NAUI #1395 at the University of Southern Mississippi.

In 1993 I became a NAUI training Assistant. Then in 1996 I earned my NAUI Assistant Instructor certification. In 1999 I started teaching Scuba under my NAUI Instructor #34793. Finally in 2006 I became a NAUI IT which was recently updated by Chad Barbay in Baton Rouge.

After Dr. Charles Burchell's retirement from The University of Southern Mississippi I began teaching as the senior instructor for the Southern Miss scuba Program In 2003.

In 2013 W.A. Powe Aquatics, LLC was started. Through this small company, I provide services include Aquatic Program Consulting, Aquatic Facility Maintenance and I provide other programs for certification such as American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, Emergency Medical Response (first responder), Lifeguarding (including waterfront and waterpark), Water Safety, and Wilderness and Remote First Aid.

Pretty intense - but stuck with it.
