My NAUI Bio
Inspired by TV shows like 'Sea Hunt' and 'The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau’, my first certification was through NAUI in 1976 in Southern California. I immediately fell in-love with diving and the underwater world. I have been diving in several parts of the world, but Southern California's Channel Islands are still my favorite place to dive. There is nothing like the magnificent kelp beds of Southern California! I have been diving the past 35+ years.
I am a retired Fire Captain/Public Safety Diver. During part of my 32 year career in the Fire Department, I served as the Dive Rescue Team Leader managing training, equipment, and overseeing 21 rescue divers.
In addition to 'regular' SCUBA classes, I specialize in teaching Public Safety Divers in Rescue & Recovery, Full-Face Mask, Advanced SCUBA Diver, and SCUBA Rescue Diver programs. I also enjoy teaching NAUI's Training Assistant, Assistant Instructor, and Divemaster programs.
