My NAUI Bio
I became a certified Scuba Diver in 2002. Fell in love with the sport. Took numerous specialty courses. Certified Divemaster in 2004. Once at the leadership level I realized how much I enjoyed leading others into the underwater world. Became an Instructor in 2005.
Worked on the liveaboard m/v Easygoing which called Ft. Lauderdale her homeport. We left for international waters on a weekly basis. It was during this time that I had my first serious shark encounters. I got to experience the eyes wide open effect on newly certified divers as well as old salty ones. I awoke in the mornings to 9 ft and greater hammerheads as well as black tipped reef sharks. Feeding them in the azure blue waters of the Bahamas, was one of my life's greatest experiences.
After working on a liveaboard, I came to the conclusion that I wanted to be a part of the education process of our next generation of leaders. So I became an Instructor Trainer in 2006. I am also a certified cylinder inspector for PSI/PCI.
Here at NAUI our motto is, "Dive Safety Through Education". I don't just live it, I teach it. Safe diving and remember to help preserve our oceans for future generations.
