Announcing Changes to NAUI Representatives
Join us in welcoming Mauritius Bell to NAUI and Angelo Fiore to Eastern Canada!
We have two exciting new changes to the team of NAUI Representatives! Mauritius Bell, new to the NAUI team, is now the representative for Hawaii and current U.S. Northeast Representative Angelo Fiore added eastern Canada to his territory.
Angelo’s additional territories in Canada include New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Quebec, Newfoundland, and Labrador.
Mauritius Bell has been involved in aquatic safety since 1994 and actively diving since 1997. In 2002, he successfully became a NAUI Instructor. In addition, Mauritius is now a NAUI Course Director and Tech Instructor for Trimix and Cave Diving and a nationally registered Paramedic and Diver Medical Technician.
Before joining the NAUI team, he held positions as Aquatic Director for the YMCA, staff scuba instructor for UnderSea Adventures, Assistant Diving Safety Officer for the Georgia Aquarium, and Unit Diving Coordinator for the University of Hawaii at Hilo. This work has given him vast expertise in instruction and supervision of scientific, commercial, and recreational dive training and operations.
Mauritius has several favorite dive sites which include the reefs and basalt canyons of Hawaii’s Big Island, caves of North Florida, and kelp forest of Monterey, CA. When not diving he enjoys cycling, running, swimming, flying, hiking, and exploring lava tubes and other terrestrial parts of the Hawaiian Islands.
He is excited to join NAUI and will be working diligently to expand the reach of the organization in the Hawaiian Islands by educating prospective dive centers on the benefits of NAUI affiliation.
“Between the materials, eLearning, standards, and member flexibility; NAUI should really take off in Hawaii,” Mauritius said.
